2000年代のポップ・パンク／エモ・シーンを代表するバンドの1つであり、今なおヒット作をリリースし続けるトップランナーでもある、FALL OUT BOY（以下：FOB）。今年の夏は"SUMMER SONIC 2025"のヘッドライナーも務める等、これまでにフェスや単独公演での来日の歴史があり、ここ日本でも高い人気を誇るバンドだ。
そんなFOBの2ndアルバムであり、メジャー・デビュー・アルバムでもある『From Under The Cork Tree』（2005年）が、今年リリース20周年を迎えた。彼等のメインストリームでの成功を決定付けた作品であり、「Sugar, We're Goin Down」や「Dance, Dance」といった大ヒット・シングル等、今もなお色褪せることがない名曲を数多く収録した本作の20周年記念盤、そしてポップ・パンク／エモ・シーンについて、特集記事で迫る。
